There are also other social events which sometimes run alongside this club such as picnics and evening meals out.

Jasper Café

Children are most welcome to come too. It starts around 11.15am and runs for a couple of hours   Please contact the office for dates and more information.

Street Pastors

Street Pastors is an inter-denominational Church response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to care, listen and dialogue.  A number of church members are involved with this initiative.
It was pioneered in London in January 2003 by Rev Les Isaac, Director of the Ascension Trust, and has seen some remarkable results, including drops in crime in areas where teams have been working. There are now over 100 teams around the United Kingdom.
Each city project is set up by Ascension Trust and run by a local coordinator with support from Ascension Trust and local churches and community groups, in partnership with Police, Council and other statutory agencies.  For more info visit www.streetpastors.co.uk or contact the church office on 01634 322878.

Blythswood Care Shoebox appeal
This project is run by those from the local community and helps communities in other nations. Since 1966, Blythswood Care has combined the Christian message with practical help for those in need. Whether through filled shoeboxes at Christmas, relief and development aid or social projects for young and old, Blythswood brings hope to thousands in Europe, Africa and Asia. Blythswood is committed to long-term care projects in Romania, enabling disadvantaged children and young people fulfil their potential.  The shoebox appeal is one outworking of this and many hundreds of shoeboxes are filled with small essentials and gifts before being shipped out to various countries.  One of our church members leads a small team of volunteers from the local community who pack the boxes most Thursday afternoons. For more information visit www.blythswood.org or contact the church office.  Volunteers are always welcome!

Caring Hands

Another local evangelical church in Medway (Kings Church), has set up and oversees a work which is a Christian response to many problems facing the marginalised in our community. It deals with issues such as hunger, hopelessness, substance addiction & prostitution. One part of this is a small medical centre which runs part time during the week to offer medical help and advice to those who cannot get help through the usual channels. Medway Family Church currently has a doctor who helps run this part of the project. There are opportunities for those who want to serve the community at Caring Hands. For more information please contact them via their website:
